The story is about team of four honest police officers led by Anbu Selvan
IPS (Surya) the Assistant Commissioner of Police. They are specialists in encounter killings of gang lords in Chennai.Anbu
Selvan lives alone and prefers also to stay alone and firmly believes that a family will be a burden for a cop like him.Among
the other three police officers Sreekanth (Balaji),Arul(Vivek) and Illamaran(Sethu),Sree is married. The group separates on
a report from Human Rights Commission as a result of one of their encounter shooting of a gangster who does not have any case
on him on records.Anbu Selvan gets transferred to a less important duty.He meets Maya (Jothika),a young and charming school
teacher while on a bandhobust duty. She falls for him and reveals her intention of getting married to him.In a sequence of
incidents that follow, Anbu who all along wanted to be a loner give way to Maya's charm and affection. Now back to the crime
squad, Anbu Selvan along with his friends gun down a hardcore local criminal Sethu to death. He does not know that Pandia (Jeevan),brother
of Sethu and a wanted criminal by Mumbai police vows to revenge Anbu and his team.Pandia who specializes in ransom and extortion
strikes back and starts destroying the four police men one by one.The rest of the film is about how Anbu Selvan to protect
Maya (now his wife) fights back the bad element Pandia which ends in a spine chilling climax. Surya as a tough police
cop has given a dazzling performance. We could see the strains he has taken to perfect him in his diction, body language in
extremes of emotions.Jothika looks refreshingly beautiful and has performed naturally.Jeevan who debuted as a hero in 'University'
is the villain at ease in this film.Gautam Menon has given an extremely fast paced gripping film with punching dialogues and
engaging crime scenes.Three of Harris Jayaraj musical numbers Uyirin Uyirae, Ennai Konjam, Thoodhu Varuma are already a hit.
His background score and Rajsekhar's cinematography is an added asset to the film.Though the film has an overdose of violence,
it's a not-to-miss film.
